What is Terminator Genisys about? It’s about turning the Terminator franchise into the most convoluted mess possible through the most inefficient use of time travel ever.
The film is a reset of the Terminator timeline and hopes to launch a new trilogy of films. Kyle Reese (Courtney) is sent back in time by John Connor (Jason Clarke) to protect John’s mother Sarah (Emilia Clarke) as she is hunted by the Terminator. Once he arrives at his destination, Reese meets up with a battle-hardened Sarah who has been raised since childhood by an aged T-800 model Terminator (Schwarzenegger), and the trio team up to stop Judgment Day from happening.
