Santa Claus Parade in Toronto

2506

The Santa Claus Parade has been a Toronto tradition since 1905. Fantastic animated floats leave the corner of Christie and Bloor Street West in the company of two dozen marching bands and a couple of thousand costumed participants, cheered along by excited kids.

The Santa Claus Parade is a cherished Toronto tradition that receives no public funding and is made possible through generous donations, primarily corporate float sponsors and celebrity clowns.

Through these donated funds, the Parade employs a year-round full-time staff to plan and execute every detail of the event to provide a world-class Parade that millions of Canadians look forward to each year. However, not unlike other businesses and organizations, recent tough economic times have taken a toll on the Parade and, as a result, overall sponsorship and donations are down.

This year, we are asking you, the public, for support – by running the actual parade route just ahead of the clowns – to ensure the Parade can continue to deliver the spectacular floats, bands and entertainment that has made it one of the most recognized holiday traditions in the country.

Help lead the way for the Santa Claus Parade and prepare the route for Santa by taking part in the very first Holly Jolly Fun Run, a 5km race cheered on by thousands of spectators that is sure to be the most fun run in Toronto!
