Brazilian Day Canada united in one rhythm! Brazilian Day Canada is proud to hold its 5th edition in front of City Hall, in Nathan Phillips Square on Monday, September 2nd, 2013: A new location with a larger space to provide more room for music and dance fans. As the main event, a free concert on the Labour Day Holiday featuring Gusttavo Lima, a 23-year-old Brazilian sensation that performs in the style of sertaneja, Brazilian country music.

With a platinum album already under his belt, Gusttavo’s popularity is continuing to grow exponentially. In 2011 and 2012, he gathered crowds of up to 6 million people during music festivals. On YouTube, his videos have an audience of up to 50 million viewers. The US and European markets have already opened up to him, and the young musician’s schedule continue to fill up with national and international appearances for 2013.

Brazilian Day Canada is proudly promoted by TV Globo International, a segment of the second-largest commercial TV network in the world and produced by Brasil News, a major Brazilian voice newspaper in Toronto. In this fifth edition, another Brazilian singer and producer, [highlight]Thiago Correa[/highlight], will be presenting his project Mashup in collaboration with a live band, mixing Brazilian styles with pop. The artist has innovated samba and ended up collecting awards in international music award shows. Thiago has reached more than 1.5 million views on YouTube and has a busy schedule of concerts in Brazil.

Among others: an art exhibition at City Hall, a celebration of the 15th anniversary of Newton Moraes Dance Theatre, a company founded by a Brazilian-Canadian and dedicated to the creation, performance and production of contemporary dance. Also a sample of the colourful designs of Marcel Mello, a young artist from Sao Paulo. The Brazilian art exhibit happens from August 26th to September 1st.

September 2nd. On this day a little bit of Brazil will move to Nathan Phillips Square, a landmark in the city centre of Toronto. Local artists, various artworks and Brazilian foods will involve everybody in the spirit of being Brazilian.

Let`s get together to continue making the Brazilian Day Canada the largest Brazilian event in the country.  This event hosted by Serginho Groisman, a personality from Globo TV, will warm the hearts of Brazilians and Canadians.
